What is Reiki?

Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy and is an energy healing technique. Universal life force within the Human body is a vibrational energy. During stress or illness the energy that flows through the body can become blocked or unbalanced. Reiki Energy Healing is used to help restore balance to the body’s energy resulting in a feeling of calmness, relaxation and well-being that assists in self-healing. Dr. Mikao Usui is credited with re-discovering Reiki in the early 1900’s. Reiki is a hands-on method of healing done by a Practitioner who has been attuned to this healing energy. Everyone can learn Reiki. It is very gentle and natural as it assists the body in healing itself. It complements other types of therapy helping them be more effective. Dr. Oz ranked Reiki as #1 in his Ultimate Alternative Medicine Secrets for 2010 and said, “Reiki is one of my favorites, we’ve been using it for years in the Oz family, and we swear by it.” Before his popularity as a TV personality Dr. Oz incorporated Reiki into his open-heart surgeries.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki practitioners receive attunements which raise and accelerate their energy flow. The practitioner provides Reiki sessions by the gentle act of allowing energy to flow out through their hands. The client, fully clothed, lies or sits down. The practitioner’s hands are gently placed on or slightly above the body in a series of positions from head to toe. Reiki passes from giver (the Reiki channel) to receiver, working on many different levels. It brings all aspects of the receiver’s being into balance, according to their individual needs and desires. Reiki works on raising the energy level of a person.  After a session, a person will often feel peaceful and relaxed and often energized. Reiki energy is always positive and allows the body to do what it does best – heal itself.

Reiki Certification – Weekend Program

Reiki I has a focus on self-healing. You will learn the history of Reiki, the Reiki principles, the energy systems of the body, the basic hand positions for self-treatment and the treatment of others and you will experience giving and receiving a Reiki healing. You will receive an Attunement to Reiki I and a certificate of completion.

Reiki II is a more powerful level where you learn more about working with the Reiki energy for other people, animals and situations. You will learn how to send Distance Healing, use the sacred Reiki symbols and how to set up a Reiki practice. You will receive an Attunement to Reiki II and a certificate of completion.

Reiki III here the focus is on expanding your gifts and talents by strengthening your ability to give and receive Reiki energy. You will learn more about ethics and be attuned to the Master symbols, as well as learn how to work with Light Grids to amplify your healing energy. In addition we will discuss the use of crystals and stones with Reiki  and you will learn how to pass attunements to others. You will receive an Attunement to Reiki III and a certificate of completion from the Sound Reiki Institute.
